Equipment List at Western Container Corporation

Western Container Corporation's state-of-the-art Machinery produces the best possible product. Our spiral winder is equipped with a mandrel deflection compensation system, pneumatic belt tensioner, powerful DC motor and a unique stabilized belt drive. The winder provides high radial pressure on the tube and consistent pulling of the paper plies. The universal gluer system is very flexible, enabling single or double faced gluing. A combination of two different glue types can be incorporated in the same core. The paper unwinder stand includes 16 dancing roll festoons. These festoons enable high speed splicing of the paper rolls without losing ply tension. The above features result in extremely high strength paper tubes.

A CNC driven cutting carriage guarantees very accurate cutting lengths on our automatic recutter. The cutting knives can rotate while cutting, or remain fixed for a more polished cut. The lengths, number of cuts and waste trim size are all programmable features. Tooling costs are low and changeovers can be completed within minutes.

Our spiral winding line features a programmable, in-line knife cutter that creates clean, dust and burr-free cuts. Cutting tolerances of +/-.040" are guaranteed at any speed using twin motorized knives. Tolerances of +/-.020" are achievable at constant speed on tube lengths below 48". The tube reception system, at the cutter's exit, ensures precision cutting both during and after the cutting process.
